No big surprise...Look around you and you can find it present...anywhere you look. First things first..What is a relationship?..well if we were to look in a dictionary it says .."an emotional or other connection between people" and " a connection, association, or involvement.". That is a pretty accurate definition for it. If we were put a relationship into out personal lives it would mostly consist of an emotional connection may it be with family, friends and lovers.
From past experiences, I have found that a lot of people take relationships lightly, mostly in terms of their boy/girlfriends. They would then go in and out of relationships without really considering why that got into one in the first place. Getting into a relationship should be taken more seriously not just "trying out". This method cheapens relationships and plants ideas that relationships are not serious and should be taken for granted. This is untrue because if it is taken for granted, then is it non-existent then? For then it would not be an emotional connection but rather it would be connection and that would be the end. This would then lead to a degenerating society in terms of emotions and words like "I Love You" would be nothing more than words spoken more out of duty rather than how someone feels. Don't decide to start up a relationship just for the kick, for that is not only selfish but also inconsiderate. When a relationship is as it should be, you would be surprised at how much it means to you and how you feel at that point and from that point. It can change your life and fulfill you. Sure, things might not always be on the high point and you may have some rough paths ahead but you will find you would want to keep it, no matter what happens.
Relationship with friends are also rewarding in their own respect. Without friends life would be dull and lonely. From some sources, it is said that the more friends you have, the longer you will live. However it may be slightly inaccurate, as it is more likely the more true friends you have rather than more friends. Despite this inaccuracy, I do agree with this as having more friends does help keep you positive most of the time. They would share your burden when you need them to, listen to you, distract you and be there for you, and in turn you would do the same for them. If we were unable to do this we would be irritated at the pent up emotions we bottle up inside and this also gives us a chance to know that we are not the only ones going though problems. We can also share in their joys and because of this will we not be more happy?
Last but not least, is family relationships. Well first and foremost I have to say..if we did not have family relationships we would not be here right now will we? At the same time though, people can have one of the two relationships stated above. A relationship with family is also mutual such as with friends but at the same time they are different. There are some things you can share with just your family and some things you can only share between friends.
Although they are all different, they all play an important role in our lives. With family and friends the distinction can be blurred as some may consider friends to be family and treat the as such and vice versa. So do not take relationships lightly as they have a large role and impact on our lives and without them words like "I Love You" will have no meaning and we would truly be in a dead and bleak world.
